Title: Communications Coordinator – Full Time – Non-Exempt

Job Purpose: The Communications Coordinator at Temple Jeremiah is responsible for supporting the synagogue’s overall communications strategy and online presence. S/he/they will act as the primary content manager, copy editor, and graphic designer for the organization. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the staff and volunteers to prepare marketing materials, emails, and social media content promoting programs, events, and the synagogue as a whole. This position requires the ability to work independently while coordinating and playing a vital role on the larger team.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Manage Temple Jeremiah’s social media presence across platforms including Facebook and Twitter while following the mission and design standards of the congregation.
• Draft and assist with the creation of electronic newsletters and emails
• Oversee content management, creation, design, and editing of the monthly newsletter.

• Manage content on the organization’s website and blog
• Utilize Temple Jeremiah brand voice and graphic design skills to create attractive collateral pieces for the organization such as membership materials, brochures, event materials, flyers, postcards, invitations, print ads, and social media graphics.
• Assist in archiving photos; attend and take photos/videos at events as needed
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in marketing, communication, graphic design, or related field is required. Bachelor’s preferred.
• Creative, energetic and self-motivated.
• Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Computer skills with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite required. Video editing, Constant Contact, WordPress and HTML knowledge preferred.
• Excellent writing and editing skills and extraordinary attention to detail
• Highly developed interpersonal skills: work well with others and interact positively with all constituents of the congregation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible

Salary/Benefits:

• Starting Salary at $40,000
• Fulltime employees are eligible for Health, Dental, 403b, and LTD

This position reports directly to the Executive Director
